The farm has a track record of over 30 years delivering volunteering, learning and leisure activities with a small paid staff and a team of volunteers.
Our projects are led and supervised by Volunteer Support Workers, skilled in supporting and working with vulnerable young people and adults, and others who have additional support needs. They work directly with volunteers each day, either one-to-one or in mixed ability groups and are their ‘go-to person’. These staff provide a plan, and support for volunteers at the start of their volunteering placement.
The Education Officer develops and leads tours and workshops throughout the year. Our Gardens Support Manager maintains the market garden and provides support to our regular Gardening groups. The Corporate Fundraising Officer manages our corporate team building groups and relationships with corporate donors. An Office Administrator provides support to the whole team and is the first port of call for organising parties or work experience.
Our Management team is tasked with achieving the Farm’s objectives, which the board agree and review on an annual basis. They are also responsible for managing relationships with volunteer referral agents, donors and funders. The Farm and Estates manager has responsibility for the site and all the animals.
As with all charities, a volunteer Board has overall responsibility for the organisation. Our Board bring a broad range of skills to the governance of the farm. Current members have expertise in farming and business, legal, financial, human resources, charity leadership and fund raising.
